The peak of the DAIKIN Proshop Designer Award 2023 has ended on Friday, November 24, 2023. Annual competition for interior design and architecture activists held by PT. Daikin Air Conditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN) has selected 18 winners from three main categories and three special categories that represent the best work among more than 350 participants who participated since the registration was opened on June 1, 2023.
Held through DAIKIN collaboration with a large association, namely the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) of DKI Jakarta and West Java and the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII) DKI Jakarta, the theme of RE:IMAGINE becomes the uniqueness of the competition that challenges participants from students and professionals to reimagining the ideal residence by placing the comfort of the air and the overall interior decor as a unified unity in the aesthetics of a space.
We are very proud of the increasing number of participants as well as the variety of approaches used in the winning works, said Shinji Miyata, President Director of DAIKIN in the middle of the award night of this competition held at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta. Bringing enthusiasm for the growing idea of the birth of an ideal residence that provides comfort in space from the combination of aesthetics with air conditioning, said Shinji Miyata, President Director of DAIKIN in the middle of the DAIKIN Proshop Designer Award 2023 award ceremony at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta.
The growth of the idea of this ideal residence, according to Shinji Miyata, is in accordance with the beginning of the DAIKIN Designer Award which reached its third time this year. More than a competition, the implementation intends to open up space for architectural and interior design activists to share the same vision of housing that not only attaches importance to the aesthetic aspect, but also completes with air conditioning solutions as a support of comfort and health in harmony with the overall interior decor of the space.
Being a global AC specialist with almost a century of experience, DAIKIN has a variety of technologies and innovations in special product lines as a support for the vision for the creation of this ideal residence. This comes through the DAIKIN Home Central AC lineup which allows the simplification of installation related to piping because one outdoor unit can be connected to several indoor units as well as according to its cooling capacity.
DAIKIN Home Central AC also has a variety of indoor unit designs. Deliberately made like this with the aim of being able to blend as well as add an elegant nuance to the interior of each type of space according to its purpose. Complementing its advantages, user health care support is contained in its ability to maintain humidity levels and eliminate various health-hazardous particles that float in the air in space through layered filtration.
Among the winners, GeTs Architect became the first winner in the Finished Project category for the architectural work group. As a category that represents a residential project that has been built with the support of DAIKIN AC, GeTs Architect is the choice of a jury panel consisting of representatives of IAI and DAIKIN with the concept of The Gritted Grid that it brings.
Utilizing the MULTI NX type of Home Central AC which is applied in the form of boxtrox, solid and void play on the mass of buildings in this residence provides a unique aesthetic without leaving the main function as air ventilation, sunlight filter and visual separation between public and private areas.
Still from the same category, but intended for interior design works, Cowema Studio was promoted to be the winner with a strong Tropical Classic work with an elegant feel in every corner of the building. This residential house project on 420 square meters was built in the spirit of elegance, clean, detail and classic.
The classic manifestation in the design line it uses, cannot be separated from Cowema Studio efforts to build this residence to be in accordance with Indonesia tropical climate. While the use of VRV Home Series and Multi NX which is the line of DAIKIN Home Central AC was chosen to be applied in the boxtrox concept, for the purpose of making the ceiling look neater by only showing the black line on the ceiling as an air duct.
Works in the conceptual category are no less stunning. Consisting of two challenges, residential and commercial space for the Food & Beverages business sector, both of them are unique because they require participants to design the interior of residential houses or shophouses from Sarwendah as one of the Indonesian celebrities who also sit as a jury panel in this category.
For the residential interior, Sarwendah house with her husband and three children located in BSD City Cluster Kanade at The Zora Type 10 with an area of 200 square meters is a challenge. Meanwhile, for the interior layout of commercial space, it gives a challenge that is no less big.
Based on the Sarwendah business premises located in Ruko Daikanyama The Zora BSD, Tangerang, this challenge was made with a high level of difficulty to arrange the entire interior of the building of two shophouses (ruko) which was made into one with three other floors and one rooftop with a total area of 200 square meters. Sarwendah, who is a direct evaluator in this conceptual category, hopes that this entire layout work will be intended for a Japanese-themed cafe equipped with a photo studio with traditional Japanese clothing that can be rented.
Rons Studio with the Modern Classic concept successfully answered the challenge of the conceptual work category for housing as the best work for a group of professional-class architectural works. This work titled Classic Meets Ethnic in Modern House managed to steal the attention of the judges thanks to the exploration of the color combination that gives an elegant impression with the use of local handmade accessories to further emphasize the atmosphere and content of the space. The selection of brown wood material produces a warm and homey space.
In the conceptual work of commercial space interior design, PT Allure Cipta Persada became the first champion through the Nihon Nidorama concept. The legendary story of Japan that tells the life of a woman from a poor family who succeeded in achieving success became the inspiration for this work. A strong impression can be seen in the main ornament that resembles the shape of a wave hitting a woman who represents the figure of Oshin. The comple of straight and curved lines is also made to represent the figure of Oshin as a strong and gentle woman who becomes the symbol of women emancipation.
On the other hand, for special participants from the student group, Bina Nusantara University Jakarta swept both categories. The residential conceptual work category was won by Marvin Luckianto, Drake Agrajalada Liemmore and Gerry Leonardo. Darwis Jayadi, Alaric Ferdianus and Alexandra Lidwina became the winners for the Food & Beverages commercial building category.
In this DAIKIN Proshop Designer Award 2023 award night, DAIKIN also gives special awards for architectural works and interior design. More than just his success in applying AC Home Central in his work, This award is given to architectural activists and interior designers whose work is worthy of being an inspiration for buildings that focus on creating quality air conditioning without leaving their aesthetic charm, said Shinji Miyata.
There are three works that are the recipients of this special award. Yori Antar Awal from Han Awal Partners & Architect with the work of Kebon Jeruk Residence as The Most Inspiring Home Sanctuary Design 2023, Leo Einstein Fransciscus from Einstein & Associaties became the recipients of The Most Photogenic Restaurant Design 2023 through the work of Padhi Resto and Ary Indra from Aboday was given the title of The Most Creative Commercial Design 2023 with the work of Pitu Rooms.

At the end of every DAIKIN Proshop Designer Awards, we hope to be the beginning of the growing idea of an ideal residence for the Indonesian people which is created from an inspiring interaction among all participants, concluded Shinji Miyata.
